“The picture made me look at the world in a better way, there are beautiful places out there near where you live.”

Lonelyleap were commissioned for a fourth year to create films for the Royal Observatory’s Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition.

The short documentary films feature three of the shortlisted photographers, all of whom have varying levels of experience and focus on very different aspects of astronomy from deep space to the sun and the moon. Our goal with this year’s series was to show exhibition goers that nothing is impossible – the magic and enjoyment of astrophotography is open to anyone prepared to put their mind to it.
