Some of the best stories aren’t created, they’re discovered.

Our Beginnings

On August 16th 1960, Colonel Joseph Kittenger jumped from his Excelsior III balloon on the edge of space. During his descent, he reached an astonishing 614mph in freefall, a journey captured in The Long, Lonely Leap. Inspired by the spirit of his endeavour, we set out to find the man.

For ten days, we called his wife every evening.
We borrowed the money to invest in state-of-the-art camera kit.
We booked a flight to Florida under the guise of a prior engagement.
We found Kittenger.

in 2006, Lonelyleap was born - our own bold leap into the unknown.
